Yes is very rare, the honour badge for tank destroyer is
istituited 31 May 1943 is an gold shield with in the center
flaming tank and sword.

for your information. Are you sure that this badge was instituted 31.05.1943?
Because in the book "The Italian Army - Africa 1940-43" of Osprey publishing theres ist a drawing of an Italian soldier of the Pavia Inf. Div. dated 1942. That means that the autor made a mistake.
When your date is right, this badge wasn´t awarded in North-Africa.
Does anybody have a picture of a real badge in natura or of an awarded soldier at a old photo?
