Holiday/Vacation

My new friends,
I will be out of town until the 29th of July. We are taking a week and a half long trip to the Corpus Christi beach, The Alamo, Texas Military Museum, Seaworld, etc. It'll be me and three women, so I may be a bit crazy when I get back! haha I'll get some pics of the military museum and Alamo to share.

Thank you gentlemen![:D] We just got back last night and we are tired! I'll post some pics of the military museums sometime this weekend. I went to the Museum of the War in The Pacific and the Texas Military Forces museum. The Alamo also had a museum specific to that battle in 1836. They were very interesting. The beach, Sea World and shopping was for the women on the trip. The food was outstanding!

Sono andato al museo della guerra nel Pacifico e nel museo delle forze dei militari del Texas. Il Alamo inoltre ha avuto un museo specifico a quella battaglia in 1836. Erano molto interessanti. La spiaggia, il mondo del mare e lo shopping erano per le donne sul viaggio. L'alimento era eccezionale!

Thank you gentlemen!! Blaster, the circular things are called "curly fries". They are potatoes in a circle shape. My daughters do not have the pallette that my wife and I have, so they ate common food that youngsters like. I had a large pepper with meat, spices and cheese in it with a side of rice and beans...and southern ice tea. My wife had the Mexican chocolate sauce over a beef enchilada. Don't ask me what the dishes are called...I forgot! haha This is a very popular Mexican restaurant in San Antonio called "Mi Tierro's". Very good food. Sal, I have only women in my family. It is good because they spoil me! haha Die Nadel...thank you! The Alamo is very important to shaping Texas and her government and sensibilities I believe. "Remember the Alamo" was the battlecry at "San Jacinto" and the defeat of Santa Anna...if I remember correctly. Forgive the dark pictures please. It was raining the entire time we were there. Le mie figlie non hanno il pallette che la miei moglie ed io abbiano, in modo da hanno mangiato l'alimento comune quel giovanotti come. Ho mangiato un grande pepe con carne, spezie e formaggio in esso con un lato di riso e fagioli... e tè del sud del ghiaccio. La mia moglie ha avuta l'eccedenza messicana della salsa di cioccolato un enchilada di rinforzare. Mi non chieda che che cosa i piatti sono denominati... mi sono dimenticato! haha questo è un ristorante messicano molto popolare in San "miglio Tierro" chiamato Antonio. Alimento molto buon. Sale, ho soltanto donne nella mia famiglia. à? buono perché lo rovinano! il dado Nadel del haha... li ringrazia! Il Alamo è molto importante a modellare il Texas ed il suoi governo e sensibilità* che credo. "ricordisi di che il Alamo" era il battlecry "al San Jacinto" e la sconfitta di Santa Anna... se mi ricordo di correttamente. Perdoni le immagini scure per favore. Se non sbaglio la battaglia di Alamo fù quella in cui morì David Crockett, uno dei maggiori eroi americani.
C'è un dibattito ancora oggi per stabilire se Crockett morì durante la battaglia oppure fù catturato vivo e trucidato dopo dai messicani, qual'è la tua teoria in proposito Arditi???

David Crockett, per quanto fosse un eroe, era sempre un essere umano, quindi può essere morto in battaglia come è possibile che sia stato trucidato dai messicani, può anche avere chiesto pietà* a Santanna, (anche se ho qualche dubbio), anche perchè, in quei momenti, sempre secondo me, pensi a salvarti la vita.

I agree with you fully my friend. By the way, as a point of interest/history, Santa Anna's second in command was of Italian birth.
The Alamo is a sensitive subject with many Anglo's and Hispanics, within Texas, even today. When I was at the Alamo I saw a Mexican national unfurl a Mexican flag, while standing against the wall, and have his family take his picture. I saw some frowns from some people. I stay out of politics like this.
There was a large Texas uproar when Santa Anna's wooden leg was returned to Mexico some years ago. I forget which president authorized it. Both sides showed great courage, withstood hardship, and made history that fateful day. Thanks Die Nadel.

Crockett was a US Congressman that was defeated for another term in office just before he went to Texas. He would wear the "buckskins" to garner attention that he played up for political reasons. Interesting fellow.
