War of the Pacific Museum

Ciao Gentlemen!
A couple of months ago myself and my family went to the War of the Pacific Museum in Fredericksburg, Texas. In the museum they have vehicles, uniforms and equipment of the Japanese, Army and Marines that fought in the Pacific area.
This Japanese naval gun actually knocked out the tank shown. The sign said the naval gun was below a rise and took the tank out when it crested the rise. You can see the hole in the front of the tank. The tank was used by the Australians at the time.

This is the main building with the uniforms. There is an outside museum with tanks, artillery pieces and memorials to the fallen.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words! Thank you Fratellone! Die Nadel, this Stuart was used by the Australians at some point in the war. I think, maybe, late 42 or 43. The history of the tank and the Japanese artillery piece is on the placard, but it's a bit hard to read with the small picture. I remember reading that the tank was found on some island by one of the surviving Australian platoon members many years after the war. It was still there after 50 years! Amazing!
The musuem also has some rare Japanese tanks. I'll post some of those as well.

Japanese tank knocked out in one of the few "tank vs. tank" duels of the Pacific War. It was then brought back here.

Japanese hotair balloons with bombs attached. The Japanese launched these from Japan and they would float across the Pacific Ocean to the United States!

It held out against Japanese attacks after Bataan's surrender.
I did some searches on the web but there is very little about it.

Se non e' troppo un disturbo, posso chiederti se hai informazioni su Corregidor, la piccolissima, ricoperta di cemento, isoletta soprannominata "La roccia", situata nella baia di Manila, Filippine.
Resistette agli attacchi Giapponesi dopo la resa di Bataan.
Ho fatto ricerche sul web, ma ho trovato molto poco.

Thanks for the encouraging words and interest gentlemen! Me Ne Frego, I only know a few general facts about Corregidor. I believe Macarthur, his wife and four year old child were there during the Japanese attack and then were whisked away later. There was some resentment with the soldiers because of this. It is also believed, by some, that Macarthur set up a very bad defense of the Philippines during the invasion. He knew about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor 9 hours before and left the planes where they were(in the Philippines) to be destroyed. Not very smart in my opinion. He was a very self-centered arrogant man. I guess you can tell I do not care for him. It's just my opinion though. I was not there at the time! haha! I also think that Corregidor was retaken by US paratroopers at the end of the war if my memory is right. Don't quote me on this I am searching my memory. If memory serves...I think that Corregidor was a very early US colonial fort after the Philippines were taken from Spain around 1898 or so. I believe it was a defense set up to offset the rise of the Drednaught class ships. in the earlier 20th century. Hope this helps some...and my facts may be a bit wrong! haha I've personally been to the Philippines four times as a Marine. The women are beautiful and the food and beer were good during my younger days. Now I get tired when I think about it! haha

Ringraziamenti per le parole ed i signori consiglianti di interesse! Me Ne Frego, conosco soltanto alcuni fatti generali circa Corregidor. Credo Macarthur, la sua moglie e un bambino di quattro anni erano là* durante l'attacco giapponese ed allora sono stati sbattuti via più successivamente. Ci era un certo rancore con i soldati a causa di questo. Inoltre si crede, da alcuno, che Macarthur abbia installato una difesa molto difettosa delle Filippine durante l'invasione. Ha saputo circa l'attacco giapponese al porto di perla 9 ore prima ed a sinistra gli aerei dove were(in le Filippine) essere distrutte. Non molto astuto nel mio parere. Era un uomo arrogante molto self-centered. Indovino che potete dirmi non vi occupate di lui. à? giusto il mio parere comunque. Non ero allora là*! haha! Inoltre penso che Corregidor sia stato ripreso dai paracadutisti degli Stati Uniti alla conclusione della guerra se la mia memoria è di destra. Nonlo citi su questo che sto cercando la mia memoria. Se la memoria lo serve... pensi che Corregidor sia stato un forte coloniale molto iniziale degli Stati Uniti dopo che le Filippine siano state prese dalla Spagna verso 1898 circa. Credo che sia stato una messa a punto della difesa per sfalsare l'aumento delle navi del codice categoria di Drednaught. nel ventesimo secolo più in anticipo. Speri che questo aiuti alcuno... ed i miei fatti possono essere un torto della punta! haha I è stato personalmente alle Filippine quattro volte come fante di marina.
