Japanese Type 38 Rifle

Afternoon Gentlemen!
It is 12:32 pm here now. I thought I would share a Japanese Type 38 rifle today. It was developed on 1905 and officially adopted by the army in 1906. It served for nearly 40 years up until 1945. This is an early model because of the lack of protective ears on the front site. Also, this rifle had been taken out of army service because of the defaced "mum" and put into school use. Notice the Kanji on the buttstock and the rack number. Hope you like it.

Correct Vincenzo. For drilling or training children in the ways of Bushido. Here are the buttstock and rack number I left out. I have not had the kanji deciphered yet, but it should be the name of a school.

Thank you for the kind words Giulio and Blaster! Much appreciated my friends. Correct Blaster! It is an Arisaka. Giulio, the Japanese tried to make a Garand copy, but only a handful of prototypes survive today. Now that is a rare rifle(Japanese Garand copy)! Here are some photos of the type 38 in use in China. These photos are from the book "Japanese Soldiers at the China Front 1930's" by Shigeo Sugawa.

Giulio, il giapponese ha provato a fare una copia di Garand, ma soltanto una manciata di prototipi sopravvive oggi. Ora che è una copia rifle(Japanese rara di Garand)!
