Many thanks for your answers. My understanding of this rifle is that the RE marked rifles were used by Italian troops in Etiopia, etc. and the AOI marked rifles were used by native troops(Askari, etc.). Is this true? I will buy this rifle soon and be able to take a closer look at it soon. Have you guys seen any other official stock marks on Carcano? Possibly a CAS marking?
