I think you are right that the shield is RM. I am no expert on these marks, but the only time I have seen this shield has been on ts Carcano's with the anchor. I have seen three of four in the last few years. The shield on the buttstock is interesting.
I have seen the rampant lion mark on a couple buttplates in the past. Let me see if I have one in my collection. I thought maybe it was a factory/maker mark of some sort?
In the United States in the early 90's the anchor marked carcano's were quite rare. It was believed, wrongly I think, that the anchor marked carcanos were only for the San Marcos Marines because of the very few of them seen. This was published in the American AMICI magazine by a friend of mine(Doss White) and was also published in the American book on the Carcano by Dick Hobb's. Both are fine men, but relied on what little was known about Carcanos in the United States at that time..very little. Of course we now know these are Itaian Navy rifles. Many more appeared, anchor marked, in the States after the imports from Albania in the early and mid 90's.
I would also be curious what you find out about the rampant lion mark.

Ciao Carcano, penso che siate destra che lo schermo è RM. Sono esperto su questi contrassegni, ma l'unica volta ho visto questo schermo è stato sugli st Carcano con l'ancoraggio. Ho visto tre di quattro durante gli ultimi anni. Lo schermo sul buttstock è interessante. Ho visto il contrassegno sfrenato del leone sui buttplates della coppia nel passato. In unito Dichiara nell'inizio degli anni 90 che i carcano contrassegnati ancoraggio erano abbastanza rari. Si è creduto, scorrettamente io pensa, che i carcanos contrassegnati ancoraggio fossero soltanto per i fanti di marina di San Marcos a causa molto dei poche di loro viste. Ciò è stata pubblicata nello scomparto americano di "AMICI" da un amico del bianco dei mine(Doss) ed inoltre è stata pubblicata nel libro americano sul Carcano da Dick Hobb. Entrambi sono uomini fini, ma contato sui che piccolo è stato conosciuto circa Carcanos in unito Dichiara a quello time..very poco. Naturalmente ora sappiamo che questi sono fucili del blu marino di Itaian.
