I wanted to show the difference between the Type 39 long rifle and the Type 38 carbine. They both have the same basic action, but differ in length. The caribine has an overall length of 38 inches with a 19 inch barrel. They were issued to mounted troops, artillery and early on to paratroopers until the special paratrooper rifle came into production. Roughly 500,000 were made over 35-40 years. Please forgive the pictures as the sun kept changing on me.

Il caribine ha una lunghezza totale di 38 pollici con un barilotto da 19 pollici.
