grazie ragazzi per i complimenti sono davvero felice che vi sia piaciuto , l'ho comprato oltre che per il mimetismo anche per la storia che porta sempre se sia èvera, lo so che non si comprano le storie ma questa mi affascinava, l'elmo è di terza mano e l'ho preso da un irlandese il quale lo prese a sua volta direttamente dalla persona che lo conservava in famiglia, ecco la storia che mi è stata tramandata:
The helmet was sold to me by the son of a French farmer who lived in a small town called " Ain " in the west of France. He told me when i was buying the helmet that during 1944 after the Invasion of France, that there was combat actions between American forces and German units retreating through the area of Alsace . As the Germans retreated, many Germans were killed. A American tank crew driving a Sherman tank passed through this village and took two German helmets over their front tank lights as war trophies.
The Sherman crew stayed with this mans family for the night until the next day. When they left, they left the two German helmets with the farmer. He then put them away in his house with a lot of other bits and piece he picked up during the later war years.

Il dubbio è fastidioso, ma la certezza è degli imbecilli.
Certi libri sembrano scritti non perché leggendoli s’impari, ma perché si sappia che l’autore sapeva qualche cosa.

anche a me il tuo elmo piace molto. Per me è buono al 100% e, per quanto riguarda l'esterno, i rivetti sembrano davvero intonsi. Mi piacerebbe molto vedere l'interno e anche qualche foto alla luce del sole. Davvero un bel pezzo comunque. Bella anche l'ossidazione del metallo del guscio e la patina generale. Impeccabile come si suol dire! Silvio
