Ciao Blaster! The inside of the pith helmet is some sort of fiber. Very thin...It is green inside and tan/brown outside though there are many exmplaes in military green on the outside. These appear to have come in two colors green and tan. That is only through my observations nothing I've read.

I want to congratulate with Arditi for the four pieces from his collection displayed in this topic. They are really beautiful and I would encourage him to post more pictures. The frog-skin cover is excellent, I am after one of those since some time, but I can only find repro and those which are presented as "true" are horribly expensive for my budget. I have never found such a cover declared as "post-war". The patch with the EGA is wonderful.
I have one of those mosquito nets that I have used to mask a renovated front seam/swivel bale M1 too new-looking to be shown, but I don'like it: If you fold it in the helmet it is then impossible to fit the liner completely. The only solution is to leave it unfolded, as shown in the picture from Arditi. My mosquito net is quite minty: any clue how to recognize whether it is original or a repro?

Voglio complimentarmi con Arditi per i quattro pezzi della sua collezione che ci ha mostrato. Sono davvero stupendi e vorrei incoraggiarlo a mostrarci altre fotografie. Il telino "pelle di rana" e' superbo, ne sto cercando uno da un bel po' ma riesco a trovare solo riproduzioni mentre quelli dichiarati autentici sono carissimi per le mie tasche. Non ne ho mai visti di definiti "post war". La patch con l'EGA e' meravigliosa.
Ho comprato uno di quei telini contro le zanzare e lo uso per nascondere un M1 giunto frontale/ganci mobili restaurato e troppo "rifatto" per essere mostrato, ma non mi convince un gran che: se lo si ripiega all'interno del guscio non si puo' piu' inserire il sottocasco fino in fondo. L'unica soluzione è di lasciarlo dispiegato, come mostrato nella foto di Arditi. La mia retina sembra praticamente nuova: c'è qualche modo per poter stabilire se si tratta di un originale del periodo oppure di una riproduzione?
